Los Angeles, US -- A registered sex offender was convicted in California last week of kidnapping and killing a 21-year-old model, Kimberly Pandelios, whose skeletal remains were found in a forest one year after she had disappeared.
David Rademaker, 42, could now face the death penalty or life in prison. Prosecutors said he lured Kimberly Pandelios to the Angeles National Forest in February 1992 for a photo shoot and drowned her in a creek when she resisted his sexual advances. The mother of a year-old son told her husband she was meeting a photographer named Paul. Hikers found her skull and other remains in March 1993 in the San Gabriel Mountains northeast of Los Angeles.
Radmaker, who served about half of a 12-year sentence for charges of procuring a child to engage in a lewd act and giving controlled substances to a minor was paroled in 2004.
