Child Porn Lecture

Brisbane, AU -- A man caught with 90 child porn images on his computer escaped actual jail time yesterday, but not before he received a lecture from District Court judge Ian Dearden for helping contribute to the sexual exploitation of children.

Brett Ashley Connor, 35, was charged last September with the new offence of possessing child exploitation material after he was identified in an investigation by Queensland police's Taskforce Argos. He pleaded guilty to the charge yesterday.

Crown prosecutor David Nardone told the court police found almost 100 child pornographic images saved to Connor's computer hard drive in a file titled "Special".

Judge Dearden sentenced Connor to nine month's jail but wholly suspended it in recognition of factors in his favor, including his co-operation with the authorities and the lack of apparent distribution of the images.
