Trial Begins For Man Arrested With Oprah Help

MOUNT VERNON, Ind. (AP) - Jurors began hearing testimony Wednesday in the trial of an Indiana man arrested last fall on sex abuse charges after he was profiled on The Oprah Winfrey Show.

William Davis, 33, faces five counts of child-molesting and one count of failure to register as a sex offender. He was arrested Oct. 6 in North Dakota two days after the talk-show host broadcast his picture and offered $100,000 for information leading to his capture.

Three boys testified Wednesday in Posey County court in southwestern Indiana about abuse they said happened in 2004, when they were 13, 12 and five. Davis denies the allegations. If convicted, he would face prison sentences of 20 years to 50 years for each of the molesting charges.

Davis, who was convicted in 1992 of molesting a child, also awaits trial in neighbouring Vanderburgh County on five child-molesting counts involving different allegations.

Two friends, women in North Dakota and Minnesota, divided the $100,000 reward after Davis was arrested in Fargo, N.D.

Well this isn't supposed to be "sexy" story. It says that this blog is also about dark side of human sexuality as far as I can see...
